چکیده
This document is intended to provide a first time user of I D E N T with tutorials on the usage of the program. The user should be familiar with the theoretical aspects of linear system identification. The Box and Jenkins (1976) Time Series Analysis is probably the best first reference. Following are explanations of each command (generated by IDENT), and examples of each command. I D E N T uses 2 types of input files. One type contains the input and output data to be analyzed. The other type contains commands with which the program may be run automatically. It has been the experience of this laboratory that the automatic mode of running I D E N T is the only one used. Usually, one wants to estimate and evaulate several models before choosing a model structure. On an LSI-11, the time involved in such an effort is considerable, so that modeling was often done in an overnight run of IDENT.

Programming manual for IDENT, a parametric and nonparametric linear systems identification package.
This document is intended to provide helpful information to anyone wishing to adapt IDENT for use on a computer other than an LSI-11, or on an operating system other than RT-11 version 4, or with different data structures. An overall picture of IDENT is provided by Tables 1-7, in which the common variables and the overlay structure are outlined. The function of each subroutine is noted briefly....
متن کاملA computer program for linear nonparametric and parametric identification of biological data.
A computer program package for parametric ad nonparametric linear system identification of both static and dynamic biological data, written for an LSI-11 minicomputer with 28 K of memory, is described. The program has 11 possible commands including an instructional help command. A user can perform nonparametric spectral analysis and estimation of autocorrelation and partial autocorrelation func...
متن کاملA comparison of parametric and non-parametric methods of standardized precipitation index (SPI) in drought monitoring (Case study: Gorganroud basin)
The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is the most common index for drought monitoring. Although the calculation of this index is usually done by using the gamma distribution fitting of precipitation data, studies have shown that for accurate monitoring of drought, the optimal distribution of precipitation in each month should be determined. On the other hand, in non-stationary time series,...
متن کاملUser choices for nonparametric preprocessing in system identification
Most research on system identification is focused on the identification of parametric models, for example a transfer function or a state space model where the information is condensed in a few parameters. In the daily practice, nonparametric methods, like frequency response function measurements, are intensively used. Recently, it was indicated that nonparametric identification methods could be...
متن کاملParametric Search Package: Tutorial
This document is the tutorial of the CGAL extension package for parametric search. It gives an overview of the parametric-search framework, and explains how to use it by describing implementations of several applications of parametric search. The full documentation of all classes and functions that are meant to be called from user-code can be found in the reference manual.
